Kansanshi in Motion is driven by a dedicated team of sports enthusiasts who share a passion for growing sport and encouraging active, healthy lifestyles across Solwezi and Zambia's North-Western Province.

With over 35 years of combined experience, our team brings together a wealth of knowledge in sports development, event management and community engagement.

While Kansanshi's sporting events began in 2012, the KMP Sports Development Office was established in 2020, building on this foundation and expanding opportunities for participation across the wider community.

What started with local sporting events has grown into an exciting calendar of running, cycling, swimming, rugby, netball, athletics and other sporting activities, attracting participants of all ages and abilities.

Today, our events continue to grow in both size and recognition, reaching beyond Solwezi to the national and international sporting stage. A major milestone is hosting the 2027 African Mountain Bike Championships, bringing international competition to the North-Western Province.

Our vision is simple: To make sport an accessible, enjoyable and integral part of everyday life — not only in Solwezi, but throughout the North-Western Province and beyond.
